Water Heaters
Water heating is typically one of the third largest
energy expense in your home. And heating your water
typically accounts for about 14% of your utility
bill. That’s why it’s important that
your water heater runs efficiently and that you
have the right water heater to fit your home and
family’s lifestyle. This wise step saves you
money and energy both.
Our technicians are knowledgeable in all types of
water heaters and are experts in their repair and
replacement.
Basically, there are two types of water heaters
- gas and electric - with dozens of different models
and sizes. Gas and electric water storage tank heaters
operate in similar ways and range in size from 20
to 80 gallons. An electric water heater can be used
most anywhere, whereas a gas water heater is typically
installed in a home that already uses gas (though
our piping professionals can run new gas lines and
vents for you if you prefer a gas appliance).
Repair
Is your water not hot enough or do you run out
of hot water too quickly? Is the hot water discolored?
The tub fills with rusty water when you use hot
water. Call a qualified technician from Mr. Rescue for a free inspection of your hot
water system. We’ll examine your current
water heater and offer options and recommendations
for fixing the problem. If needed we will flush
your water heater gas or electric.
Installation
Need a new water heater? An improperly installed
water heater can lead to less than adequate hot
water, water leaks, and property damage. It is
our quality that we have the availability of same
day installation and have certified installation
professionals waiting to ensure the installation
of your water heater meets all local plumbing
codes and stringent manufacturer guidelines. Bracing for Earthquake Safety
A 50-gallon water heater holds about 400 pounds
of water. In an earthquake, it’s quite possible
for an unbraced water heater to fall over, with
the potential of serious injury and property damage.
Additionally, if a gas-type water heater falls
over it could very easily damage the gas connection
and create a dangerous gas leak.
State and local building codes require all water
heaters to be properly braced. Check your existing
water heater. If you’re in an older home,
it may not be braced. If your current water heater
is not properly secured, call us toll free today
and we’ll have your water heater safely
and securely braced in no time right by the city
and state codes.
Tank and Tank less water heaters
Are people telling you all water heaters are the
same? That is simply not true. There are many
different models with many different features.
For example the old style open combustion models
are no longer available. The Flameguard sealed
combustion units have been legislated to the market
for safety purposes and they make your choices
even more varied than in the past.
The intent of this website is to help you make
an informed decision about the new water heater
you need. Mr. Rescue provides honest answers to your questions. Our
recommendations come from many years of experience
in the area. We are familiar with the local conditions
and the products that handle those conditions
in a satisfactory manner. We will endeavor to
provide as much information as we possibly can.
Although the selling price of a water heater makes
some people gasp, when you stop and think about
it, you'll see that you do get your money's worth
from the purchase. If you take the cost and average
it out over a typical 10 to 15 year period, you
will find it is very reasonable. After all, this
appliance works every day of the year to provide
instant hot water at the turn of a tap.
Think about it, you cannot buy any other appliance
for your home that comes complete with a five
to twelve year replacement warranty for the cost
of a new water heater.
Mr. Rescue supplies
and installs residential and commercial water
heaters from all the major manufacturers. Some
are more suitable than others due to homeowners
and building owners circumstances. Water treatment
equipment is only one of many factors which play
an important role in the decision between different
models. Manufacturers offer various warranties
and warranty periods. Some options can be very
important to some owners and not others. We will
take the time to fit the product to your specific
needs and wants.
Call us toll free to exchange some information
and you will find you can have a water heater
installed that will do what you require at a reasonable
and affordable price. Mr. Rescue guarantees it, and our guarantee
is second to none.
There are two kinds of water heaters: the standard
tank heater that is present in most homes, and
the tankless water heater. Both types are available
in gas or electric power varieties. Below is a
brief description of the pros and cons related
to each type.
Tank hot water heaters
All of the tanks we install are energy efficient,
quick recovery water heaters, although gas heaters
are faster recovery than electric. Advantages:
A tank full of preheated water that
can still be used if the power goes out
Will feed multiple fixtures at the
same time
Gas tank heaters will continue to produce
hot water during a power outage
Disadvantages
Will eventually run out of hot water
if used for an extended period of time
Must run every few hours to maintain
the temperature in the tank
Tankless Water
Heaters
Both gas and electric
tankless water heaters are energy efficient. Electric
heaters require more amperage than most houses supply
and they will only run one fixture at a time. Gas
tankless heaters will supply two fixtures at a time,
but they usually require a larger gas line, new
venting and a modified electrical outlet when converting
from a tank type heater.
Advantages
Only use power to heat water when there
is flow
Provide continuous hot water for as long
as needed
Disadvantages
About three times the price of standard
tank type heaters
Produce a finite volume of hot water
per minute
Supply a limited number of fixtures
If you have a water heating problem,
Mr. Rescue has the solution.
